Pioneering the Industry
History of Underground Surveying

Underground Surveying, LLC was established in 2005 by former employees of Subsurface Consulting, LTD in response to the need for utility locating services throughout Connecticut and New York State.

During the early stages of operation, we specialized in performing single utility locates for homeowners and small firms. Over the last five years, the successful completion of numerous projects has enabled us to expand our services, grow our client base and to achieve steady growth. We now possess the staff and equipment needed to perform underground utility locating, concrete imaging and concrete inspection surveys of any size and scope.

Mission of Underground Surveying

To help construction professionals, environmental consultants and property owners save time, lower costs and reduce risk when digging or drilling.

Qualifications of Underground Surveying

All underground utility locators and ground penetrating radar (GPR) technicians must complete a rigorous in house training program prior to entering the field. In addition, they must work alongside an experienced project manager for at least one year and cannot work independently until given permission by a project manager. All underground utility locators, GPR technicians and project managers have attended and successfully completed GSSI StructureScan, UtilityScan and Bridgescan courses. In addition, they are all OSHA, HAZWOPER, API and confined space certified.
